James R. Donley DDS
Dentist of the Year Awards
Dr. Donley was born and grew up in Muskegon, Michigan. He moved to Detroit for seven years to continue his education and go into the healthcare field. After graduating from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry, he attended a number of seminars on preventive dentistry. During that time, he acquired the philosophy that the professional person has no right to be anything other than a continuous student, and the true professional works in a manner as if to put himself out of the restorative dentistry business by teaching his patients how to stay healthy!
His passion to help people be healthier has led to him utilizing advanced treatments for periodontal disease and acquiring the needed education for treating snoring and sleep apnea. This passion to help people be healthier, live longer, and have a higher quality of life has also led Dr. Donley to become a member of Partners in Complete Health, being appointed to the Muskegon County Public Health Advisory Board, and becoming a member of the 1 in 21 Healthy Muskegon County group. Becoming board certified in dental sleep medicine is part of his passion
His hobbies include:
- Woodworking
- Fishing
- Traveling
- Canoeing
- Studying to improve his ability to help people be healthier
Dr. Donley feels that the education of the public and his patients is essential for a healthier population. Among these endeavors was the Doctor Dial telephone recorded message program for dental health early in his career. A little later, he wrote a dental information column in the Muskegon Chronicle for several years. He had one of the earliest dental websites, if not the first, in Muskegon County for education purposes. Within the office, he has always used audio-video programs for patient education. He speaks to groups on various phases of dentistry whenever the opportunity arises. For some time, he participated in the monthly health screening at Sam’s Club in Muskegon.

Linda Donley
As the wife of Dr. Donley, I have been part of the team here since day one. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Wayne State University. While Dr. Donley was going to dental school, I taught in inner-city Detroit. I have also taught at Whitehall and still work as a tutor. I like helping team members when they need an extra hand, as well as helping guests who come for treatment. I jump in where I am needed. I clean rooms and take care of instruments, as well as help at the front desk when needed. As a people person, I enjoy making new and returning patients feel welcome, relaxed and like part of our family.
Together, Dr. Donley and I have three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy reading and playing word games. I also scrapbook on a regular basis with a group of friends and my daughter.
Megan — Front Desk
Megan comes to us from Holland, MI, but she currently lives in Grand Haven. She has been working in the dental field for the past 2 years and loves being able to help educate our patients on the importance of oral health.
Megan has two beautiful children and enjoys playing in the nature in her spare time. Some of her passions include singing, camping, and kayaking.
Pam — Dental Assistant
Pam has been with our office for over 27 years. I love being able to connect with the patients to improve their health and comfort level when visiting the dentist. We believe in caring for the person and not just their mouth, and it shows.
She is married with four kids and eight grandkids. Some of her hobbies include woodworking and quilting.
Meghan – Registered Dental Hygienist
Meghan recently returned to the Lakeshore area after being at a large dental practice for over 8 years in the Coopersville, MI area. She is excited to settle down in Montague and get a lot more time at the lake now! After graduating with honors from Kellogg Community College, she has been a dental hygienist for almost 10 years now. She specializes in comprehensive one-on-one patient care and education as well as being certified in Periodontal Laser therapy and Local Anesthesia. She loves getting to know her patients and treats them as family.
Meghan has been married to her college sweetheart, Joshua, for almost 20 years. Together with their kids, Lorelai and Grayson they enjoy trips to their home away from home, especially to Disney World. With what little extra free time she has, she also enjoys reading, crafts, and going on walks.
Samantha – Dental Assistant
Samantha is a native of Muskegon, MI, and has been a dental assistant for the past seven years. She has significant experience with dental implants and also dentures. She truly enjoys helping people with their dental needs and educating them on their oral health. Seeing patients smile after a big transformation is probably one of the best feelings in this field and especially knowing that you are a part of a team creating that experience makes it even more special.
Samantha is a wife and a mother of three children. She enjoys spending time with her animals, riding her motorcycle, and going to the beach.
